Speed bumps - artificial road bumps

Speed bumps Ukraine
The term “speed bump,” refers to part of the forced speed limit of cars. Constructions used to be called "sleeping cops," and they, as now, are a small elevating platform on the road.
Now speed bumps are made in almost all megacities and small cities, but they were first equipped in the United States in the 20th century. Designs were used so that car drivers reduced their speed. They were a kind of warning of a dangerous road. Also, such obstacles were very important for local farmers, as they kept livestock and animals often fell under the wheels of vehicles.
Speed bumps are usually installed in residential areas and near zebras. They are also needed next to such institutions: kindergarten, schools, organizations of additional education, hospitals and so on. Designs must be present in the parking lots of shopping centers, as in these places the largest flow of people. Signs warning of artificial obstruction, special services are installed in places with the highest rate of traffic accidents and in areas with dangerous turns.
What is the principle of operation of such obstacles? When a car crosses a speed bump at high speed, there is a high risk of damage to the car suspension. As a result, various elements of the transport system may be damaged: parts for mounting wheels, struts, shock absorbers, steering and steering elements, and brakes. Failure of automobile mechanisms leads to serious repairs, so it is important not to break the rules and limit the speed.
Designs can be made from recycled rubber (e.g. tires) or polymeric materials. Newer models are equipped with technical means that prevent the ice layer, but in winter they must be removed for the efficient operation of snow removal equipment. Speed bumps are made of different materials, so the designs are divided into several types: polymer sand, composite (multicomponent) and rubber.
Rubber Speed Bumps
Rubber speed bumps are in great
demand on public roads. This can be explained by high efficiency in
reducing the speed of drivers. Design characteristics are also
important. Firstly, rubber speed bumps have a relatively low price.
Thanks to the improved hard rubber alloy formula, these artificial bumps
do not require expensive reinforcement. Secondly, rubber designs are
reliable. In some embodiments, connecting the elements according to the
principle of a puzzle allows adjacent components to reliably and firmly
hold each other.
Rubber coating ensures grip. A special tread
significantly improves the grip of car tires with a speed bump. Since
artificial bumps are created specifically to slow down the vehicle’s
traffic and increase the safety of pedestrians and drivers themselves,
it is important to use the correct and high-quality coverage for speed
bumps. In many sections of the road you can still see concrete or
asphalt structures. According to experts, they cannot fully comply with
safety requirements. For example, artificial irregularities with a
concrete composition in bad weather, in the winter period of time, is
much worse in adhesion to wheels than in rubber.
The convenience of
using rubber speed bumps is that for their installation you do not need
to use additional sophisticated equipment. They are mounted on anchor
bolts.
There are also special regulations that provide technical performance for speed bumps. Before mounting the structure, the highest permitted vehicle speed must be taken into account. Also, the surface of the device must contain elements aimed at reflecting light to prevent accidents. When installing the structure, it is necessary to consider whether the carriageway is lit at night and whether water is discharged from the carriageway.
However, violations associated with the installation of restrictive devices lead to numerous accidents. Basically, there are no warning signs and markings in front of speed bumps. Also, the dimensions of the structure are often significantly higher than normal. In many large and developed cities there are drawings in a three-dimensional image, creating a visual presence of an obstacle.
There are a couple of ways to drive the fixture. Among them are called the reel, angular, by slowing down the speed, the method of one edge, and the most common is the reel. The driver brakes in advance and reduces the speed to 20 km / h, lowers the gas and brake, and then crosses the structure in neutral gear. After overcoming the obstacles, you can again resume the usual speed of transport. Experts do not recommend abruptly pressing the brake pedal on the restrictive design. In this case, the suspension of the car lends itself to a huge load.
The following method is called angular intersection. Near an obstacle, the car must be turned at an angle to the structure and first rolled on one wheel, and then on the other. Moving the device by reducing speed provides for the activation of neutral gear. The brake pedal should be released, and before the very artificial surface, you can start the first. Near the obstacle you need to hold the car, and then slowly press the gas pedal and cross.
The last method of one region is the most dangerous, but motorists most often do so. Overcoming the artificial surface at high speed leads to significant damage to the suspension.
Delivery of road speed bumps to all settlements of Ukraine, also in the areas of Kiev (Kiev), Odessa (Odessa), Lviv (Lviv), Kharkov (Kharkov), Dnipro (Dnipro).
